Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report

Congressional Quarterly's magazine on government, commerce and politics. Presents news and analyses of current events and current issues under consideration in Congress, including the status of bills in play, behind-the-scenes maneuvering, committee and floor activity, and roll call votes.

ProQuest Congressional

Access World News from NewsBank provides full-text information and perspectives from over 600 U.S. and over 700 international sources, each with its own distinctive focus, offering diverse viewpoints on local, regional, and world issues. Date coverage varies with each individual newspaper.

Nexis Uni

Nexis Uni provides access to more than 15,000 news, legal and business sources, including print and online journals; television and radio broadcasts; newswires and blogs; local, regional, national, and international newspapers with deep archives; and extensive legal sources for federal and state cases and statutes, including U.S. Supreme Court decisions since 1790, and business information on more than 80 million U.S. and international companies and more than 75 million executives.

  • Pew Research U.S. Politics & Policy page - linked on the Federal Resources page of the Political Science subject guide.
  • C-SPAN - a private, non-profit company, created by the cable television industry as a public service. Its mission is to provide public access to the political process. The C-SPAN website contains a wealth of information, including videos of Congressional hearings related to a number of federal policy issues.
  • The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) - a bipartisan organization that serves the legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states, its commonwealths, and its territories.  The NCSL website provides research and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues.
