The Skidmore College community came together online to celebrate the creativity and resilience of the Class of 2020, whose final semester was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 18, Skidmore graduated 622 creative seniors at its 108th Commencement Exercises. The Class of 2019 heard remarks from author Alan Lightman and Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Torre, who both received honorary degrees.
The Class of 2018 heard remarks from distinguished honorary degree recipients: Alison Bechdel, acclaimed author, cartoonist, MacArthur fellow and Tony Award winner, and Robert S.D. Higgins, M.D., Johns Hopkins Hospital's surgeon-in-chief and world-renowned authority in the field of heart and lung transplantation and coronary bypass surgery.
Honorary degree recipients Ann Tisch, Wes Moore and Oprah Winfrey joined 624 members of the Class of 2017 at Skidmore’s 106th Commencement.
