Academic Festival Application Form

Academic Festival application

Welcome and thank you for applying to present your project at Academic Festival.

Deadline: March 28 is the deadline to submit proposals and April 15th is date for final copy submission. Selections will be made from all applications, and you will be notified by mid April.

A list of frequently asked questions regarding Academic Festival can be found here. Please be aware of major changes that have been made regarding faculty sponsorship, the length of project summary, and the additional of Roundtable Presentations.

Form Descriptions:

  • Poster: Create a poster to display all day. Posters will be grouped in sessions, and the length of a session will depend on the group size.
  • Performance: 60 minutes are normally provided for performance.
  • Poetry/Fiction Reading: 30 to 60 minutes are provided for a reading.
  • Panel: 60 minutes will be provided for panel discussion. This includes time for answering questions, if desired.
  • Exhibit: The exhibit will be display all day. There will be a 20-minute question and answer session scheduled.
  • Presentation: A 15-minute presentation with 5 minutes provided for answering questions.
  • Roundtable Presentation: A 7-minute presentation on a topic; following brief talks by all presenters, a discussion will follow.

Format (detailed descriptions can be found above):
Enter the student's contact details below. If a group of students is presenting, enter the details for one representative. If an entire class is presenting, enter the name of course and course number below.
GROUP OF STUDENTS: If a group of students is presenting together, please list the NAMES and CLASS YEARS of each student.
Please provide a summary of your project 75 WORDS OR LESS. This will appear in final program brochure.
Please provide additional details about your project that you feel will help the committee in its decision.
Setup Requirements (select the setup elements you will require):
If you require a computer or laptop setup, please specify operating system (Mac or PC), computer program and ay other important details.
If you have any special sound sytem needs, please list them here.
If you have any other setup needs not already specified, please list them here.
Please list any other Academic Festival performances you or your faculty sponsor are involved in.
