Faculty Interest Groups
One of the Faculty Network’s primary focuses is to help organize faculty interest
groups (FIGs), which will enhance a sense of community among faculty, engendering
collegial relationships that may not have developed without the Faculty Network.
The topic of each FIG is up to the group to determine. They might focus on pedagogical
issues, mutual scholarship or creative interests, or a combination of all three. The
network facilitator’s role is to help bring faculty together, schedule meeting times
and places, provide resources, and plan events. Much of the facilitator’s budget is
earmarked for these interest groups.
