A Thoroughbred Thanks
The Skidmore College Employee Appreciation Program was created to recognize excellence in the areas of teamwork, enthusiasm, motivation, problem-solving skills, initiating positive change, self-confidence, integrity, accomplishing goals and furthering the college’s diversity efforts. The program provides an opportunity for all members of the Skidmore community to send an appreciation card when they see other community members going above and beyond expectations to acknowledge the excellent work being done by that individual.
This program emphasizes the opportunity for all employees to be acknowledged and appreciated. On a monthly basis, Human Resources will share kudos given to an individual with the individual’s immediate supervisor.
Thank you for taking the time to appreciate others.
The Thoroughbred Thanks Fund
As many of you are aware, each year at the Annual Employee and Retirement Recognition (R&R) event there is a special drawing from the recipients who received a Thoroughbred Thanks throughout the year. In recent years, Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, Nicholas J. D’Ambrosio Jr., Esq. (Bond), our legal counsel, has graciously donated the funds for us to purchase the gift given to the employee whose name is chosen by President Conner.
It is with great pleasure to let you know that one of our 2017 retirees has generously begun a Thoroughbred Thanks Fund that would allow us to continue this valued tradition. It is also exciting to let you know that Bond has committed to continue their donation for the next five years as well.
At Skidmore, many of our R&R honorees and retirees make the decision to give back the monetary value of their recognition gift to the college. The Thoroughbred Thanks Fund will allow Skidmore Community members the option to donate to this special fund and continue this valued tradition for many years.
If you are interested in giving to this fund, please contact Human Resources at 518-580-5800 or hr@skidmore.edu
