Students who are interested in doing research during a summer internship have several opportunities, including:
- Skidmore Faculty Student Summer Research provides students with an opportunity to work with faculty on original research. Students spend 5, 8, or 10 weeks during the summer immersed in research, and live on campus with other students doing summer research.
- National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates. The REU Program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in any of the areas of research funded by the NSF. An REU site consists of a group of undergrads who work in the research programs of the host institution.
- Many of our students find other research opportunities with various institutions, organizations, and groups, and then apply for competitive funding from Skidmore.
You can also check the Education / Outdoor Leadership page, which lists many websites that offer internships and jobs doing research, in addition to internships in education.
