Dates
The dates for the program will differ from Skidmore College academic calendar. Below
you will find the proposed dates for the upcoming semester. Please note that the dates
are tentative and could change.
Students should not book any airfare until they are told by the Skidmore Program Manager
and/or Frontiers Abroad.
Fall 2024 (TENTATIVE)
Geology Field Camp/Earth Systems Field Camp + University of Canterbury
Field camp begins: June 26, 2024
Last day of finals: November 9, 2024
Departure: November 10, 2024
University of Canterbury Direct-Enroll only
Semester begins: July 15, 2024
Last day of finals: November 9, 2024
Departure: November 10, 2024
Note #1: Traveling to New Zealand (all students will arrive in Christchurch) can take two
calendar days so please double check your arrival date in New Zealand. For instance,
you might need to leave NYC on the 18th of June to arrive on the 20th of June in Christchurch.
Note #2: Finals at University of Canterbury can end before the published last day of finals
but you should not plan to leave early until you confirm your final schedule.
