Title IX Policies and Procedures
Skidmore College has a Title IX Policy for each constituency: students, faculty, and staff. However, there is some sexual and gender-based misconduct that does not fall within the jurisdiction of Title IX, so for those incidents, they will still be addressed and responded to under the appropriate existing or revised policy.
Skidmore’s policies are based on regulations from the U.S. Department of Education. These include a specific definition for what is considered sexual harassment, jurisdiction, and hearing procedures.
The College will comply with the 2024 and 2020 Title IX regulations, Violence Against Women Act, New York state’s Enough is Enough law, and other relevant laws and policies to determine which policy will apply.
