Deposits for off-campus study

All students studying off-campus will be asked to submit a non-refundable confirmation deposit to OCSE.

For semester/year programs, students are required to submit a $500 non-refundable confirmation deposit two weeks after receiving approval from the Committee on Academic Standing (CAS) to study off campus but no later than November 1st (for spring programs) or April 15th (for fall/year programs). The $500 confirmation deposit will appear as a credit on the semester invoice.

For short-term travel seminars, students must submit a $250 non-refundable application deposit to OCSE at the time of application in order for the application to be considered complete and reviewed. The $250 deposit will be credited to your Skidmore account if accepted to the travel seminar.

Paying the deposit

Deposits can be paid to Skidmore by cash, check, money order or online through the Skidmore Bursar's E-Bill system.

Deposits can be submitted by cash, check or money order in person at the front desk in Off-Campus Study & Exchanges in Starbuck 202.

Checks and money orders should be made out to "Skidmore College".

Checks or money orders can be mailed to OCSE at the following address:

If possible, please write the student's name, student ID number, off-campus study program and term on the check or money order. Please do not mail cash.

Students or parents can submit payment for the deposit online through the Skidmore Bursar's E-Bill system via electronic check or credit card. There is a 2.75% fee for utilizing a credit card.

After logging into the E-Bill system, select "Deposits" from the top menu. For step-by-step instructions with screen shots, please see How to Pay Deposits online.

Deposits submitted online will not be instantly marked as complete in the OCSE portal. It can take a few days for the Bursar to notify OCSE that a deposit has been paid online.
