The Queer Faculty and Staff Resource Group supports connection, visibility, belonging,
and advocacy for queer employees at Skidmore. The group creates space for social connection,
mutual support, education, open communication, allyship, and awareness of issues affecting
lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual, and other
LGBTQIA+ faculty and staff.
The group uses “queer” as an inclusive, reclaimed term for people whose sexual orientation
or gender identity falls outside heterosexual or cisgender norms. Its use reflects
the group’s commitment to acceptance, understanding, and belonging.
