First-Year Experience FAQs
There is one Accepted Candidate Day programs that still has room for admitted/enrolled students: Friday, April 22. Please visit the Accepted Student Events page for more information.
General campus tours are offered M–F at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.. Enrolled, accepted, and wait-listed students are also invited to arrive early and start their visit with a 25-minute Q&A session with an Admissions director at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Science-themed and arts-themed tours are available M-F at 10 a.m. General tours are also offered on Saturdays at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. Pre-registration is required for all tours.
Enrolled and admitted families are encouraged to meet one-on-one with a financial aid counselor. They are prepared to provide a four-year overview, clarify terms and conditions of financial aid awards, and answer questions or concerns about affordability. Whether you are moving your student in for Pre-Orientation or New Student Orientation, Skidmore is offers a number of events for families on move-in day. Schedules will be available on the New Student Orientation page in June.
You should expect instructions for setting up your Skidmore e-mail account within 24–48 hours of your deposit being processed. Please remember offices are closed on Saturday and Sunday, so deposits that arrive on Friday will not be processed until Monday.

- Try another web browser than the one you were using.
- Restart your computer.
- If all else fails, write down any error message(s) you get, and send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Be sure to have your Skidmore ID number (starts with 00) and birth date handy when calling or emailing.
- After creating your account you can access your email at http://outlook.com/skidmore.edu (you should not try to get it via gmail/Google).
