North Woods regulations
Visiting Hours and Parking
Open daily to guest from dawn to dusk. Parking is permiotted in the Falstaff lot designated on the map. We ask that guests not park on North Broadway, as the college neither owns nor maintains this road.
Acceptable Activities (see map for designated areas)
Walking, hiking, running, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are allowed, but only on marked trails.
Dog walking is also permitted, provided that dogs are kept on leash and owners clean up after them.
Please, no bikes in this area.
Wilson Chapel and meditation area
The Skidmore community created this as a place of meditation and spiritual reflection.
Out of respect for those using this area, we request that only walkers use this trail.
Please, no running, cross-country skiing, bikes or dogs in this area.
Activities Not Permitted
- Motor vehicles of any kind
- Biking
- Littering
- The possession or use of firearms or illegal drugs
- Unruly, hazardous or destructive behavior
- Excessive noise
- Alcohol
- Fires
- Hunting and trapping
- Overnight camping
- Building of shelters
Any gear left in the woods will be viewed as trash and will be removed.
Safety
Proceed at your own risk. The college cannot be responsible for your safety in the woods.
