Senior
faculty member in sculpture John Cunningham currently holds the Robert
Davidson Chair in Art. His work has appeared in individual and group
exhibitions at museums and galleries nationally including New York City,
Chicago, Washington D. C., Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, and New Orleans
among others, and he has recently exhibited a year-long show of monumental
sculpture at Texas A & M University. Along with exhibitions, he has
lectured and published extensively on his sculpture and his engineering-related
work inspired by his sculpture. He has published in Nature magazine and
he holds numerous patents on devices for vibration isolation and earthquake
resistant systems. He received a BA in Physical Chemistry from Kenyon
University and BFA and MFA degrees in studio from Yale University.
