RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am interested in understanding how the communication between periphery and the central immune system (CNS) across the blood-brain barrier drives the pathology associated with psychiatric disorders. I combine immunocytochemistry, molecular biology, genomic and proteomic approaches with microscopy and stereology to investigate cellular and molecular changes in postmortem human tissue from individuals diagnosed with a mental disorder and victims of suicide.
