To start their seasons, Skidmore field hockey was ranked 11th nationally and second in the Liberty League, while golf was the only Liberty team to poll among the top 25 nationally.  Field hockey opened at home on Sept. 1; the golfers teed off at the Lake Placid Invitational on Sept. 9. Career Jam—part of Celebration Weekend, Oct. 14, 3–5 p.m.—needs alumni and parent volunteers who'd enjoy fielding student questions and sharing insights about their industries, companies, graduate experience, or career journeys. Sign up here, or send queries to Lauren Sisson.

There's still time to sign up for Skidmore's Homecoming, October 7. All alumni from all class years (and their families) are welcome for student performances, tours, and more—including the athletics Hall of Fame inductions (register now!).

Now is the time (until Nov. 4) to nominate alumni for recognition awards and also for positions on the alumni board. Alumni in class years ending with 3 and 8 are especially urged to nominate classmates for distinguished achievement or outstanding service awards.

Planning is under way for Celebration Weekend, Skidmore's annual open house for students' families. This year's Oct. 20–22 event features faculty seminars, performances, a president's hour, campus tours, and more. Register by Sept. 29!

Four-wheel-drive land roving and a "flight-seeing" flyover are part of the package for a Tanzanian safari during the huge migrations in March. The trip includes legendary game parks such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and deluxe accommodations in a lodge and camp. Space is limited; register now.

Skidmore events are coming up this month in San Francisco and Santa Fe, Maine and Boston and Philadelphia, and even London in the UK.
