| Libraries too may benefit from these micropayment systems. Long a center of photocopying, libraries may soon be "Web entrepreneurs" and deliver content online via micropayment systems. Instead of visiting your local library and hunting through microfiches of archived newspapers or magazines, the library of the future may deliver that content online for an e-cash payment of 10 cents, 50 cents or perhaps a dollar or two, which may cover both the fee of copyright permissions and library services. Micropayment systems like the Millicent Project support transactions for as little as 1/10th of a cent up to 5 dollars or higher. |
