  • Frances N. Weiss, a longtime member of the dining staff, died May 4, 2011, in Malta, N.Y. She was 91.
  • Patricia Weller, of the Scribner Library, died Dec. 22, 2003, at her home in Saratoga Springs. She was 64.
  • Phillip West, professor emeritus of English, died March 20, 1997, in Saratoga Springs. He was 60.
  • Deborah A. Wetherby, a retired member of the Dining Services staff, died June 28, 2016. She was 59.
  • Associate Professor Emeritus of English Alan Wheelock, a specialist in American literature who taught at Skidmore for more than two decades, died Oct. 26, 2020, of complications from cancer. He was 84.
  • Bertha Irene (Clark) Whipple, a longtime member of Skidmore's housekeeping staff, died Jul, 27, 2013, at Wesley Health Center in Saratoga Springs. She was 73.
  • Isabelle Williams, a dedicated professor emerita of music who helped to launch the Filene Music Program at Skidmore, died Monday, March 9, 2020. She was 87.
  • Ruth Rowe Wilson, a former first lady of Skidmore College and an honorary member of the Class of 1961, died February 19, 2012, in Vacaville, Calif. She was 97.
  • Charles Winney, longtime dining staffer, died December 8, 2006, in New Rochelle, N.Y.
  • Louise Beinetti Wise ’40, former director of admissions, died January 18, 2018. She was 98.
  • Stuart K. Witt, associate professor emeritus of government, died Sunday, February 10, 2019. He was 79.
  • Wilbert Wright, a Dining Services employee for nearly 40 years, died July 24 in Albany, GA. He was 75.
  • John L. Yakush Sr., a longtime Skidmore plumber known for an impish sense of humor and creative approach to solving plumbing dilemmas, died Sept. 29, 2007. He was 77.
  • Ethel Maria Yarbrough, a former housekeeper, died August 15, 2011, in Saratoga Springs. She was 102.
  • David Yergan, a longtime member of the Theater Department and an alumnus, died September 22, 2013, in Albany after suffering a stroke. He was 54.
  • Erline Youngblood, a longtime member of the Dining Services staff who reportedly was Skidmore's first female cook, died May 16, 2013, at Saratoga Hospital.
  • James Youtsler, professor emeritus of economics, died January 18, 1995, in Delray Beach, Fla. He was 87.
