Enrichment and Travel
Now that you are retired, you may have time to take/audit a course on campus as a non-matriculated student or participate in the Special Program's highly rated and ever popular Seminar for Mature Adults. How about a trip with other members of the community? Maybe you just want to find out what new things the Scribner Library has to offer. The following links provide informational details on how to make any of those things happen.
Students register in person through the Registrar's Office in August and early-September for the Fall Term and in December and late-January for the Spring Term.
Non-Matriculated Students may take a partial or full load of courses each semester.
Encore is a survey of liberal studies presentations by Skidmore College faculty for adult learners. Begun in 1980, the series features the remarkable Skidmore College faculty delivering lively presentations on a broad array of topics with themes that change weekly.
The Retiree Library Collection includes materials (books, feature films, documentaries) on subjects such as retirement planning (both financial and psychological), health, and life writing.

The travel programs sponsored by Alumni Relations serve to bring alumni, parents and friends together for educational, social, and cultural opportunities which highlight the best of Skidmore's founding principles and current strategic initiatives.

Throughout the year, Skidmore offers a rich array of events that are open to the public and especially inviting to retirees. Welcome to Summer at Skidmore! While some colleges are on vacation, our campus is bustling with activity. Here you will find information on the many credit and noncredit programs and events we offer to our resident students, summer population and members of the local community. We hope to see you at Skidmore this summer!
The purpose of the Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery is to awaken the community to the richness and diversity of the human experience through the medium of art.

Founded in 1992, the Academy for Lifelong Learning at Saratoga Springs (A.L.L.) is
a nonprofit membership
organization whose members share a love of learning and socializing. Some of the classes
that may be offered in a term include:

Saratoga County is a community filled with wonderful people looking for ways to give back.
From book clubs to one-on-one computer and device help, the library is a great place to learn new things and connect with others in the community.
The Saratoga Regional YMCA is committed to empowering members at every age and stage of life to enjoy greater physical activity, connectivity and productivity. Our Active Older Adult (AOA) programs include fitness classes to accommodate a variety of functional abilities as well as opportunities for socialization.
The Saratoga Senior Center is a non-profit, non-residential community center located in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs. Adults age 50 and over can join for only $25 a year and participate in programs, trips & social activities tailored to adults and seniors. Those striving to maintain an independent lifestyle can make new friends, share in a meal, play a game, exercise, take a class or learn a new skill.

For an annual fee, Umbrella members have access to a screened, skilled group of handy persons who provide a variety of services, including home repairs, housekeeping, lawn and gardening and shopping for a fixed hourly rate, currently $15/hr. The majority of Umbrella’s handy persons are themselves retirees.
