Proxy (Parent/Guardian) Instructions

Proxy Access provides you the ability to view your student’s academic records, financial aid and account information online. The student must first create an account and authorize access for you to view this information. You must have a valid email address for a student to create a proxy account for you and in order to access the Student System. Each Proxy Profile (parent/guardian) must have a unique email address; there cannot be multiple proxy users attached to one email address. However, a single proxy user (using the same email address) can be set up as proxy to multiple students (i.e. if you have 2 children attending Skidmore College at the same time). When your student creates your Proxy Access account, you will receive a “New proxy user request” email with authentication instructions.

INITIAL PROXY ACCESS LOGIN AND ESTABLISHING AN ACCOUNT                            

Once your student has created a proxy profile for you, click the one-time use Action Link URL in the email
you received to complete the setup of your Proxy Access account. The Action Link URL will only work for 7 days from the date you receive the email.

The Action Link URL will take you to the page below where you will enter (copy and paste) the initial temporary password provided in a separate email. 


 After you enter the initial temporary password, click Submit and you will be taken to the following page (Reset Password) where you will enter your email address, the initial temporary password as the “Initial Password" and your new Password of your choosing. Enter your new Password a second time in the Validate Password field and click the Submit button.  

IMPORTANT:  New passwords cannot exceed 15 characters and should not include a dash or dashes.
     

After resetting your Password you will be directed to the Proxy Access Login page (shown below). This is the page where you will now login any time you wish to access the Student System pages you are authorized to view by your student.  The URL for the Proxy Access login page (after initial setup has been completed) is: 

https://bannerxe.skidmore.edu/StudentSelfService/login/auth

Enter your proxy email address as the Username and the new Password you established and click the Sign in button.

ACCESSING STUDENT SYSTEM PAGES AS A PROXY   

Once you have logged into the Student System as a proxy, you will be brought to the Proxy Access Home page shown below

On this Home page you will see a section for each student who has granted you access to any pages in the Student System. To view a page a student has authorized you to view, use the dropdown that appears to the right of the student’s name to select the page you’d like to view.  If you have more than one student who has authorized you access to their information, all the names will be listed down the page.

When you click a link to an authorized page, such as Account Summary, you will be brought to that page for the student.  When you are finished viewing the information, you can navigate back to the Proxy Home page by either clicking on the Home breadcrumb link or the Skidmore Logo in the upper left-hand corner of the browser window (both options shown below).

To logout of the Student System Proxy Access, click on the Profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of the window, and then click on Sign Out. 

FUTURE PROXY LOGIN

After authenticating your account for the first time, access proxy login at the following URL:

Direct Proxy Login: https://bannerxe.skidmore.edu/StudentSelfService/login/auth

Enter your proxy email address and the Password you created during the initial setup process and then click Sign In.

RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD

If you cannot remember your Password, enter your proxy email address and click the Forgot Password link. You will be sent an email with another temporary URL that will assist you in setting up a new password.
