Gabriella Carboni
Lecturer
Areas of Expertise: Painting
Gabriella Carboni is a painter originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She received her undergraduate degree in Studio Art from Skidmore College, and her MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Gabriella has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally, and has been a resident at SÍM residency in Reykjavík, Iceland. Prior to teaching at Skidmore, Gabriella taught at ArtCenter College of Design and Armory Center for the Arts in Los Angeles. Additionally, she is a council member for Visual Arts Scotland, an artist society based in the United Kingdom.
Gabriella’s work explores the intricacies of our human relationships. Most recently, she has been exploring the inevitability of change — how we grow apart or grow together over time — as well as the feelings of tension and in-betweenness we face. While Gabriella works primarily in graphite drawing, she also explores and utilizes painting, sculpture and photography.
