Rebecca Shepard, Gallery Director

Rebecca Shepard has worked in non-profit art galleries and taught at the college level, and feels her job at the Schick Art Gallery in Saisselin Art Center is an ideal combination of two worlds she loves – art-viewing and art-making. Shepard taught introductory drawing and color courses as a Lecturer at Skidmore College from 2005 – 2009. Before that, she was Gallery Director at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY, and did free-lance curatorial work for the Art and Culture Program at the Albany International Airport, among other venues. She also wrote art reviews for both Metroland and the Albany Times Union. Shepard has shown her own work extensively in the region, including venues such as the Lake George Arts Project (Lake George, NY), the Rice Gallery (Albany, NY), and the Lancaster Museum of Art (Lancaster, PA.)
