Greeting from Saratoga Springs!
Dear Art and Art History Alumni,
As Chair of Skidmore’s Art Department, I’m writing to share that two of my faculty
colleagues, Doretta Miller and Deborah Morris, will be retiring after many years of
dedicated teaching. I know many of you have fond memories of working with them in
the studios and classrooms here on campus. With that in mind, I’d like to enlist your
assistance to create a special surprise to commemorate their careers.
We invite you to share your memories and warm wishes for Doretta and Deborah, in the
postcard format described below. We’ll present these creative missives to them at
a special celebration later this spring. To share your memories, you can:
- Make a post card (either 4 x 6” or 5 x 7”) that conveys your memories and warm wishes
and mail it to:

- Send a digital file with an image sized to 4 x 6” or 5 x 7” size, and we will print it out on white art paper for you. Please direct your email to: jjones@skidmore.edu
- You may also share your memories and warm wishes by visiting this link and completing an online submission form. All submissions will be compiled and presented to Doretta and Deborah.
Please help us honor these two exceptional faculty members by sending in your tribute
by March 15 (and don’t forget to sign them!) I know that they will cherish hearing from former
students as they conclude their distinguished careers at Skidmore.
