Trish Lyell, Teaching Professor of Art; teaches Drawing and Painting and is the Assistant Director of The Schick Art Gallery.
She received her BS in Art from Skidmore College and her MFA from the Mt. Royal Graduate School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Prior to teaching at Skidmore Trish worked at The Whitney Museum in NYC as a research assistant for Patterson Sims on exhibitions including The Sculpture of Ellsworth Kelly and The Manuscripts of John Cage.
She has won several grants, awards, and residencies including The Vallie Coulter Award in the Mohawk Hudson Exhibition, a decentralization grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, and a residency at the Vermont Studio Center. Her work has been featured in exhibitions both regionally and nationally and is held in the permanent collection of the Hoyt Institute of Fine Art (PA) and in corporate collections in Saratoga Springs, Albany, NY and Boston, MA.
She was a co-curator for Like Sugar at The Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery in 2019.
