Saratoga Springs Historians Office
Freshmen Sophomores Juniors Seniors
Site Hours: Monday-Friday: 10am-3pm
The Saratoga Spring's city historians office is ideal for interns seeking experience in public history. The historian preserves city documents, aids researchers, conducts her own research, writes, and gives public presentations about Saratoga Springs. The office is located in the former trolley station of the city and contains a vault with important city documents and an extra workspace for interns and volunteers
Saratoga Springs has a fascinating history, and the historian's intern will immediately find themselves immersed in this history.
Internship Projects may include:
1. Helping create a finding aid for a new collection.
2. Reorganizing archival material.
3. Assisting the historian in answering historical inquiries.
The historian has also been working on an oral history project she started collecting in 1998. Interns could help transcribe tapes and cd's or help update the collection's format (vhs to dvd or tape to cd).
