Kris CoveyKristofer Covey, visiting assistant professor of environmental studies and sciences, recently published “Consistent Trade-offs in Fungal Trait Expression Across Broad Spatial Scales” in Nature Microbiology.

Sarah Goodwin, professor of English, and Jeff Segrave, professor of health and human physiological sciences, delivered a workshop titled “Embedding Visual Literacy Goals in an Integrative General Education,” at the Association of American Colleges and Universities’ Network for Academic Renewal conference, “Creating a 21stt-Century General Education: Responding to Seismic Shifts,” in San Francisco, Feb. 14-16. They were joined by Hannah Goodwin of Mount Holyoke College and Hannah Segrave of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

 

Bernie PossidenteSarita LagalwarSarita Lagalwar, associate professor of neuroscience, and Bernie Possidente, professor of biology, attended the Northeast Undergraduate Research in Neuroscience Conference at Quinnipiac University Medical School with nine Skidmore students, who presented posters about their research. The students were Wenqin He '21, Mingjia Li '20, Simon Goldstein '19, Rebecca Sohn '19, Neha Amatya '20, Cris Gil '20, Nikoleta Chantzi '22, Sophia Zhang '21 and Han Hansen '19. Max Hegge '19 and Melanie Martinez '22 also contributed but did not attend.

 

Jenni MuellerJennifer C. Mueller, assistant professor of sociology and director of Skidmore's Intergroup Relations Program, recently spoke on “Building a Critical Race Theory of Ignorance: From Empiricism to Theory and Back Again” at the Racism and Racial Experiences (RARE) Research Lab at Rice University.
