Skidmore Spotlight: Patricia Poirier

June 5, 2019

Patricia Poirier works as coordinator for biographical records in the Office of Advancement, maintaining Skidmore's database of alumni, parents, friends and other partners.

Poirier, who recently celebrated her 40th anniversary at Skidmore, was hired in 1979 to work in the Office of the President during the tenure of Joseph C. Palamountain Jr. Soon she was hired to work on the Wide Horizons campaign in a temporary position that eventually evolved into a permanent position. Poirier has held various positions in Advancement and assumed her current role in 1990.

She said one of the highlights of her job is Reunion and meeting the alumni she speaks with so often on the phone.

“Skidmore is constantly evolving, and I love watching it grow,” she said. “Without the support of everyone, that wouldn’t be able to happen.”

When not on campus, Poirier likes to sew and quilt and play the piano and organ.
