Skidmore Spotlight: Kathy Jo Gallo

Kathy Jo Gallo works as the senior academic materials associate at the Skidmore Shop. She buys textbooks, lab materials, coursepack permissions and any other supplies needed for classes. She is also part of the Open Educational Resources working group on campus.  

Gallo joined Skidmore in 2015. “Skidmore College is an amazing school and I feel privileged to work here,” she said.  

She appreciates that the campus is always abuzz with events and activities. “I love that there is always something going on here and as staff I am invited,” she said.  

Gallo’s favorite part of the school year is the fall semester, when new students arrive on campus. “There is always excitement in the air!” she said. 

When she’s not on campus, she loves to knit and crochet. She also enjoys going to flea markets.
