Ian BerryIan Berry, the Dayton Director of the Tang Teaching Museum, was the master of ceremonies at an event dedicating 10 new U.S. Postal Service Forever stamps honoring artist Ellsworth Kelly and his distinctive style of abstraction.

Dan NathanDan Nathan, professor of American studies, attended a plenary session at the North American Society for Sport History annual meeting, held this year in Boise, Idaho. He also recently reviewed the documentary film “Ted Williams: ‘The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived’ ” (2018) for the June issue of the Journal of American History.

Monica Raveret RichterMonica Raveret Richter, associate professor of biology, published an article in the spring issue of the environmental magazine Orion. The article, “Love of Home,” explores philopatry — the tendency to return to or remain in a place — and the dilemmas it presents on a changing planet.   

Joan SwansonJoan Ann Swanson, assistant professor of education studies, wrote a chapter, “Technology as Skin,” in the book “Digital Technology: Advances in Research and Applications,” to be released in January 2020 by Nova Publishing.

Christine ReillyAlso, a paper by Swanson and Christine Reilly, assistant professor of computer science and The Charles Lubin Family Chair for Women in Science, has been accepted for publication and presentation at the 2019 Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. "A Case Study in Constructivist Pedagogy in a Computer Organization Course" will be presented at FIE, an international conference for engineering and computer science education.
