David Cohen

An article co-authored by David G. Cohen, associate professor of management and business, has been recognized as a Highly Commended Article by the Journal of Service Management Literati Award for 2021.  The 2020 Journal of Service Management article “From automats to algorithms: the automation of services using artificial intelligence” presents a framework that considers the service automation decision as a matter of knowledge management as businesses attempt to convert human capital into organizational capital. 

Amy FrappierAmy Frappier, associate professor of geosciences, was quoted in the Inside Climate News article “In a warming world, hurricanes weaken more slowly after landfall,” which was published in Galveston County Daily News. 

Corey Freeman-GallantCorey Freeman-Gallant, professor of biology, co-authored “Female ornamentation, incubation behavior, and reproductive success in a wild bird” in the journal Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology. 

Rebecca Krefting

Beck Krefting, associate professor of American studies, published the article "Comedy's Ideological Kerfuffles: From #MeToo to Black Lives Matter" in a special issue on "The Political Force of the Comedic" in the journal of Contemporary Political Theory. 

Oscar PerezOscar A. Pérez, assistant professor of world languages and literatures, published a paper in the journal Global Business Languages. The paper, “Spanish for STEM in U.S. Higher Education: A Historical Review and Future Perspectives,” describes the long tradition of teaching and learning Spanish for scientific and technological purposes in the United States.
