Skidmore Spotlight: Danielle Hudson

July 7, 2021
Danielle Hudson

Danielle Hudson works as the advancement marketing manager in the Office of Communications and Marketing, providing marketing strategy and project management support for advancement work with Skidmore alumni and donors, fundraising, stewardship and events.

While her responsibilities — from sharing compelling stories about Skidmore students and faculty to effectively communicating about large College initiatives, such as the Center for Integrated Sciences, through email and print materials — remained largely the same throughout the pandemic, Hudson has adapted to new approaches to communication and collaboration.

“Working from home and maintaining relationships while creatively pivoting and changing course has proved challenging, but with the culmination of an inspiring academic year and Skidmore’s seven-year Creating Our Future campaign, it couldn’t have been more rewarding,” she said. “The ability to work through these challenges has made me proud to be a part of the Skidmore community and the Communications team.”

Hudson joined Skidmore in September 2019 after working in advertising and marketing in New York City for over 11 years.

“Upon moving to Saratoga Springs in 2017, I was impressed by the impact that Skidmore College has on the town as a reputable, longstanding community institution,” she said. “It is a small school with a big impact, and I was intrigued by how I could use my skillset to advance the College’s mission. I love the opportunities students are afforded here at Skidmore, and showcasing these opportunities through the lens of such creative, driven students provides a real sense of pride and purpose for what I do every day.”

In her free time, Hudson enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants and visiting old favorites, attending concerts and music festivals, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
