Skidmore Spotlight: Ty Stacey

July 14, 2021

Campus Safety Officer Ty Stacey works to ensure the safety of the entire campus community and be a respectful, supportive resource.

Stacey, who started at Skidmore in October 2020, previously worked for a mental health agency and a developmental disabilities agency, coached men's college basketball and girls high school basketball, and serves as a town board member in the town of Greenfield. Having grown up only a mile from campus, he is very familiar with Skidmore and has worked with Skidmore students previously.

Stacey said he enjoys the opportunity to support students as they navigate the challenges of College.

“My perspective is that my main responsibility is to ensure that the students complete their studies at Skidmore in as safe an environment as possible, while treating everyone with the respect they deserve,” he said. “I am on a mission to positively impact the next generations, whether it be through coaching, developing community recreational facilities or simply by treating them with respect.”

When not working at Skidmore, Stacey enjoys umpiring baseball and watching the history channel.
