Skidmore Spotlight: Amy Mangiaracina

July 28, 2021

Amy Mangiaracina is coordinator of the Summer Experience Fund (SEF), which provides awards to students pursuing unpaid summer experiences.

Mangiaracina manages all aspects of SEF — promotion of the program, development of the application, the candidate review process, recipient selection, and award processing. She also collaborates with colleagues in other departments to raise funds for the program and encourage students to apply.

This summer, she started working on a new mentoring pilot program with students and alumni mentors, which will kick off in the fall.

Mangiaracina started in the Career Development Center in 2017 as a temporary career counselor and assumed her current role in February 2020, shortly after the start of the pandemic in the U.S.

“I love Skidmore’s focus on the liberal arts, its beautiful campus, and the diverse and progressive student body. I also appreciate working with colleagues around campus who are committed to their work and really care about their mission.”

When she’s not on campus, Mangiaracina spends time with her family and their three cats.

“I love reading, gardening, and watching far more YouTube and Netflix than I should,” she said.
