Jordana Dym, professor of history, co-authored the article "Bound images: maps, books, and reading in material and digital contexts," which was published in the journal Word & Image.
Tillman Nechtman, professor and chair of history, was interviewed by News 10 ABC for a story about
the Brookside Museum exhibit “The Social Lives of Hats,” organized in conjunction with a Skidmore class that uncovers the people and history
behind the museum’s vast hat collection.
Oscar A. Pérez, associate professor of Spanish, co-edited a special issue of the journal Latin American
Literary Review on “Border Environments.” He also published the article “Escaping the Visual Trap of the Agricultural Frontier: Fernando Solanas’s ‘Viaje a los pueblos fumigados.’” In it, he describes how documentary films can help us better understand the complex
dynamics of transition zones at the edges of human settlements.
