Skidmore Spotlight: Corwin RavenStar

Corwin RavenStar works as a postal clerk and is responsible for processing mail and packages, delivering mail to employees, and assisting students at the Post Office in Case Center.  

RavenStar started in the horse stables at Skidmore in 2012. He later worked for almost five years on the grounds crew before assuming his current role.  

Like many other others, the Post Office has dramatically shifted its operations since 2020.  

“Before the pandemic our department had a daily schedule that rarely veered.  Now we tend to be all over the place in order to fulfil the different needs of individuals and departments,” he said. “There’s never a dull moment down here in the Post Office.” 

RavenStar said he values the College’s emphasis on individuality and diversity. “It seems to me, given the current times that we find ourselves in, Skidmore offers an example of how living and working together, regardless of our differences, is the key to a healthier society.” 

When he is not on campus, RavenStar can often be found in his home studio creating silver and gold jewelry, hiking a mountain or two, and spending time with family.
