Skidmore Spotlight: Shaun Woods
Shaun Woods, an area coordinator in the Office of Residential Life, oversees McClellan Hall, Penfield Hall, Wiecking Hall, and the east end of Northwoods Village.
Woods, who started at Skidmore in November 2020, said his main responsibilities have not fundamentally changed as a result of the pandemic. Responsibilities include supervising resident assistants, assisting residents, and supporting Residential Life operations, including major efforts like move-in.
“Last semester we worked remotely, but we have now transitioned into the offices, so things feel like they are going back to normal. Fingers crossed!”
Woods said he appreciates the wide range of activities that Skidmore students are able to pursue at the College.
“I really like how much academics are valued by the student population. Also, just about everyone is involved in an extracurricular, which I think is amazing!”
When he is not on campus, Woods enjoys exploring area trails and parks, attending music concerts, trying new food, and playing video games on his own custom-built PC.
“I am currently learning how to code, which is something I have found an interest in during the pandemic.”
