Skidmore Spotlight: Kyle Dzurica

September 29, 2021

Kyle Dzurica

Kyle Dzurica works as an admissions assistant/information management coordinator in the Office of Admissions, helping to maintain Admissions’ student prospect database and processing enrollments and withdrawals for incoming students.

Dzurica first started working for the Office of Admissions on a temporary basis in 2007.

Although her transition to working remotely went smoothly in 2020, she is excited to be back on campus and interacting with members of the Skidmore community.

“Most of my work is done online, so I was easily able to take it home with me. I made a little office in my house and just settled in with my cat on my lap. When I did come into the office from time to time, it was eerily quiet, and the commute was quicker than ever with nobody on the roads!”

At Skidmore, Dzurica said she has enjoyed the opportunity to interact with “Skidmore’s most incredible students” through programs such as the International Friendship Families program. She also appreciates the many cultural opportunities on campus.

“I love the music, theater, and dance performances, which are performed with as much talent as anything you can find on Broadway, and they're right here in Saratoga Springs!” she said. “I also like the way I'm always being challenged at Skidmore. I’m especially excited to be reading 'How to be an Antiracist' (this year’s Skidmore FYE summer reading). Let’s do the hard work! I’m ready.”

During the pandemic, Dzurica “got pretty crafty,” making masks, baking bread, and crocheting (including some coral for the Saratoga Springs Satellite Reef. She is also active in a local church and plays in its handbell choir.
