Skidmore Spotlight: Christine Vautrin

October 20, 2021

Christine Vautrin is an administrative assistant in the Registrar’s Office, where she assists students with their questions, helps them make changes to their schedules, registers non-matriculated students, and helps resolve student registration issues.

Vautrin said she appreciates the supportive work environment at the College.

“I was new to Skidmore and had been working at my position for three months when the pandemic hit and we started working from home. It was a little nerve-wracking because I was still learning how to do my job,” she said. “One of the things that I value at Skidmore is the flexibility, understanding, and patience that the staff and my co- workers show me and each other every day. It makes coming back to work in the office that much easier.”

“The thing that most excites me about the fall semester is seeing all of the students back on campus interacting with each other, laughing, and moving forward with their young adult lives,” she said.

When she is not on campus, Vautrin enjoys boating and camping on Lake George, spending time with family and friends, and hiking.

“Since the pandemic, I have realized how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful area and to be able to enjoy the outdoors during every season.”
