Skidmore Spotlight: Elizabeth Walsh
Elizabeth Walsh recently joined Skidmore as benefits and leave coordinator in Human Resources.
Walsh, who handles benefits administration and changes, workers' compensation, and disability matters, joined Skidmore on Feb. 15 with more than six years of experience as a human resources generalist.
“I love the environment here at Skidmore and enjoy coming to work every day!” Walsh said. “The HR team and everyone I have met outside of HR have been super helpful in getting me acclimated. Coming from a remote consultant position, I’m super excited to be working alongside people again.”
In warmer weather, Walsh enjoys spending time with family on their boat on Saratoga Lake along with their dog Tuck, a yellow English Labrador, and exploring surrounding areas on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. In the winter, she spends a lot of time on the slopes skiing.
"I once spent an entire week of vacation on Canouan Island with Michael J. Fox and his family, along with Cam Neely from the Boston Bruins. That was pretty cool,” she said. While working in a restaurant in Connecticut, she also met Meryl Streep. “She came in and immediately sparked a conversation with me. She is as gracious and friendly in person as you see her in movies. I was ‘awestruck’ for sure!”
