Skidmore Spotlight: Amy Murray

May 25, 2022

Amy Murray, budget coordinator for Skidmore Athletics, provides administrative support for all of Skidmore’s 19 varsity teams. She also creates and submits NCAA and U.S. Department of Education Equity in Athletics Acts (EADA) reports annually.

Murray first joined the Skidmore community in 2015 as an instructor for Zumba classes for students, faculty, and staff.  In 2018, she was hired full time in Information Technology and moved to Athletics last summer.

“I love the community here: My co-workers, regardless of what department I have been in, have always been so welcoming and willing to help. There is always this focus on constantly learning; that has been pretty unique to my experience here versus other jobs I’ve held.”

Murray has been especially appreciative of the Skidmore community’s return to campus this academic year and opportunities to enjoy traditions like this year’s Big Green Scream.

“The energy of being in the same room with co-workers and students can’t be recreated over Zoom.”

When she is not on campus, Murray enjoys spending time with her family and two golden retrievers, lifting weights, running and doing “anything fitness-related": “I’m always pushing myself to see if I can do better than my last workout.”
