Loose Contour: Miranda Holmes

Schick Art Gallery
Nov. 17 – 23, 2025
Opening Reception and Gallery Talk
Tuesday, November 18, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
(Talk starts at 5:30)

Miranda Holmes is the 2025 Work + Space resident in the Skidmore College Art Department.
Moving between abstraction and figuration, Holmes' paintings and drawings explore identity
and intimacy. Her latest work asks how structures, including embodied, social, and political,
might rearrange to support human connection.

Holmes is a visual artist based in Columbus, Ohio. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in 2022 from
The Ohio State University; in 2017 she was granted a Fulbright Research Scholarship to work in
Berlin, Germany. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the Midwest,
Pennsylvania, New York, and Germany.

The Skidmore Art Department’s Work+Space program, established in 2023, brings artists to
campus for a three-week residency to further develop their practice and work with Skidmore art
students.

Schick Art Gallery exhibits and events are free and open to the public.
