Kristofer Covey, visiting assistant professor of environmental studies and sciences, co-authored an
article, “Sudden Aspen Decline: A Review of Pattern and Process in a Changing Climate,” in the journal Forests.
Jennifer Mueller, assistant professor of sociology, has received two awards for her article “Producing Colorblindness: Everyday Mechanisms of White Ignorance,” published in the
journal Social Problems. The Oliver Cromwell Cox Article Award from the American Sociological Association
Section on Racial and Ethnic Minorities, and the Kimberlé Crenshaw Outstanding Article
Award from the Society for the Study of Social Problems Division of Racial and Ethnic
Minorities, recognize “the best research article in the sociological study of race
and ethnicity published in the past three years,” emphasizing scholarship that makes
innovations in the field.
Bernardo Ramirez Rios, assistant professor of anthropology, has published a book. "Transnational Sport in the American West: Oaxaca California Basketball" is the first book written about sports in Oaxaca, Mexico, and is the story of how
a sport can cross physical and cultural borders.
A recent solo exhibition by Matt Wilt, associate professor of art, at the Brentwood Arts Exchange's Lab Gallery in Maryland,
was reviewed in the Washington Post.
