Faculty-Staff Achievements
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, co-authored a research paper, “Passive leg movement in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: evidence of locomotor muscle vascular dysfunction,” in the Journal of Applied Physiology.
The nonprofit VoteAmerica has partnered with Christopher Mann, assistant professor of political science, as it researches best practices for mail-in voting outreach and participation. Mann conducted a study on the topic in 2013 to test how effective mail ballot programs are in the June primaries in order to prepare for the general election.
Juan Navea, associate professor of chemistry, co-authored an academic article with Deborah Kim, Yao Xiao ’19, Renee Karchere-Sun ’20, Emily Richmond ’19, Heather Ricker ’22 and Angelina Leonardi ’20. The article, “Atmospheric Processing of Anthropogenic Combustion Particles: Effects of Acid Media and Solar Flux on the Iron Mobility from Fly Ash,” was published in the journal ACS Earth and Space Chemistry.
Joowon Park, assistant professor of anthropology, published an article, “Voices from War’s Legacies,” in the journal Anthropology and Humanism.
Bob Turner, associate professor of political science, spoke to The Daily Gazette about the 21st Congressional race in New York, commenting on the incumbent advantage in the era of COVID-19 and on the importance of building a robust campaign infrastructure.
