Faculty-Staff Achievements
Barbara Black, professor and chair of the English Department, received a favorable review in the Times Literary Supplement for her recent book “Hotel London.”
Stephen Ives, associate professor of health and human physiological sciences, and T.H. Reynolds, professor and chair of health and human physiological sciences, in collaboration
with Samuel Bloom ’17 and Andrei Tuluca ’17, published a research paper, “High‐fat diet induced obesity and age influence the telomere shelterin complex and
telomerase gene expression in mouse adipose tissue,” in the journal Physiological Reports.
Juan Navea, associate professor of chemistry, co-authored a new research article, “Physicochemical characterization of pelletized lime kiln dust as potential liming
material for acidic soils,” in the journal Waste and Biomass Valorization.
Aaron Ray, assistant director of student outreach for the Opportunity Program, was honored with the Inclusion, Access and Success Award from
the New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling. The award is given
to an individual or program that champions access and making post-secondary opportunities
available to historically underrepresented students.
