Yelena BibermanYelena Biberman-Ocakli, associate professor of political science, published “It’s time for a difficult conversation with Delhi” on the Atlantic Council website. In the article, she offers analysis and policy recommendations ahead of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s first visit to India. Biberman emphasizes the importance of preserving democratic values while deepening U.S.-India ties.  

Evan Mack

Evan Mack, senior teaching professor of music, is a finalist for the 2023 Domenic J. Pellicciotti Opera Composition Prize. Mack’s “A Nearer Mother,” is inspired by the life of Ruth Coker Burks and tells the story of one woman’s quest to help early victims of the AIDS epidemic end their lives in peace. The award from
SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music encourages and acknowledges the creation of new opera works that explore themes related to social justice, diversity, equity and/or inclusion.  

Chris MannChristopher Mann, associate professor of political science, appeared in two news stories aired by CBS 6 Albany: Political analysts explain Cuomo's political defense strategy amid sex harassment scandal” and "Professor: Clear-cut findings in report likely to damage Cuomo's legacy."   

Aarathi Prasad

Aarathi Prasad, assistant professor of computer science, and her research are featured in an article in Communications of the ACM, a leading publication for the computing and information technology fields. The article "Reducing Digital Overload" discusses Prasad's published research on efforts to limit screen time.   

Rachel Roe-Dale

Rachel Roe-Dale, professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, contributed two chapters to The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Victorian Women's Writing. The first, entitled “Mathematics,” examines the contributions of Victorian women to the field of mathematics. The other is on Florence Nightingale and focuses on her life and work. 

Ron Seyb

Ron Seyb, associate professor of political science, was interviewed by WNYT NewsChannel 13 for the news story "Political science professor says it will be tough for Cuomo to stay."

Lisa Trumble Lisa Trumble, IT project management administrator, successfully defended her thesis to earn an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from Ashland University in Ohio. Her work-in-progress, “Help Me Remember,” is a novel of a family’s love, conflict, and change following the death of their father and the subsequent discovery of their mother’s illness from dementia.
