Faculty-Staff Achievements
Yelena Biberman-Ocakli, associate professor of political science, moderated an online panel discussion on
“The implications of the Taliban’s new government for Afghanistan” for the Atlantic Council.
Anna Brezny, assistant professor in the Chemistry Department, co-authored the research article “C–H oxidation in fluorenyl benzoates does not proceed through a stepwise pathway: revisiting asynchronous proton-coupled electron transfer,” which appeared in Chemical Science. This fundamental research explored the reaction pathway of cleaving C–H bonds, which is relevant to a variety of chemical, industrial, and biological processes.
Pushkala Prasad, professor and Zankel Chair in Management for Liberal Arts Students, delivered an
invited workshop on “Otherness in the Workplace” at the Faculty of Business and Law,
the University of West England, Bristol.
Sunny Ra, Laurie M. Tisch Educator for K-12 and Community Programs at the Tang Teaching Museum,
appeared on the WMHT-TV program “AHA! A House for Arts.” In the interview, Ra discussed the Tang’s extensive educational outreach program and other initiatives.
Kirsten Hogenson, assistant professor of mathematics, co-authored a chapter in the book “Research Trends in Graph Theory and Applications,” which is part of Springer's Association for Women in Mathematics Series of books.
Her chapter is titled "Finding long cycles in balanced tripartite graphs: A first
step."
