Abigail Caldwell

Abigail Caldwell, APRN, Director of Health Services (She/Her)

Abigail joined Health Services in August 2021. She is a Nurse Practitioner with a Masters in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing. She has over 10 years of experience in adult primary care and women's health. She holds a BS in Theater from Skidmore College and is honored to return to her alma mater to collaborate with students on their healthcare needs. Outside of work, Abigail loves adventuring in the Adirondacks, particularly biking and skiing.

Michelle Lapo

Michelle Lapo, BSN, RN, Associate Director of Health Services (She/Her)

Michelle is a Registered Nurse who joined Health Services in 2006.  She completed her BSN at SUNY Plattsburgh and has been a nurse for over 20 years.  She enjoys working with the students and helping them with their healthcare needs.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, laughing, creating and spending time with family and friends.  

Rebecca Rumpf

Rebecca Rumpf, Office Coordinator (She/Her)

Rebecca joined Health Services in January 2021 after completing her degree in Occupational Therapy. She loves being a part of the Skidmore community and enjoys the day-to-day contact with the students. Outside of work, Rebecca works per-diem for Saratoga Hospital and interests include reading, hiking, snowshoeing and spending time with family and friends.

Kelly McAree

Kelly McAree, RPA-C, Registered Physician Assistant (She/Her)

Kelly is a board-certified Physician Assistant who works full time in Health Services. She holds a BS in Athletic Training/Exercise Science from Ithaca College and attended Northeastern University for her MS in Physician Assistant Studies. Kelly has over 10 years of experience in primary care/family medicine in community health center settings. Health education and literacy, women’s health as well as performance improvement in healthcare are among her particular interests. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband and 2 young children.

Meg Schiemann

Meg Schiemann, RPA-C, Registered Physician Assistant (She/Her)

Meg Schiemann is a board-certified Physician Assistant who works part-time in Health Services. She received a BS in Biology from Siena College. She then attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina where she graduated with a Masters in Medical Science. She has previous health care experience working in orthopedics, sports medicine, and spine health. She has enjoyed being a part of the Skidmore Health Services team. She thoroughly enjoys helping students with their health care needs while supporting them in on-campus events and performances. Outside of work, Meg enjoys outdoor time with her family, spent both in Saratoga Springs and the Adirondacks.

 

Debbie Flaherty, MD, Physician, (She/Her)

Dr. Flaherty is Board certified in Family Medicine, she works part-time in Health Services. She has held positions in primary care, academic medicine and dermatology. She is experienced to diagnose and treat both acute and chronic illness, in people of all ages. She enjoys developing strong relationships with her patients and working with them to achieve their optimal health. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband and three children. Her kids love attending Skidmore hockey games and participating in Skidmore summer camps. She is very honored to be a member of the Skidmore community.

 

Heather Ali, RPA-C, Registered Physician Assistant (She/Her)

Heather is a certified Physician Assistant who works per diem in Health Services. She received a BS in Biology from SUNY Plattsburgh.  Heather then attended Northeastern University in Boston, where she graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.  Heather has experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics, and Cardiology.  When she is not working, she likes to spend time with her husband and two kids.

Kara Sysyn

Kara Sysyn, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Kara is a full time RN in Skidmore Health Services. She received her Bachelors in Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire and her BSN in Nursing from SUNY Binghamton. She is excited to be part of the Health Services team and helping students with their health care needs. Outside of work, Kara enjoys spending time with her family and friends going skiing, hiking, yoga and traveling.

Colleen Shamberger

Colleen Shamberger, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Colleen has been a full time RN in Health Services since 2018. She received her BSN from Niagara University and brings with her over 30 years of nursing experience. Her passion is teaching and promoting an environment for learning along with guiding students through the health care process. When she’s not at work she enjoys family time with her husband and 3 children, baking and attempting any Pinterest DIY project. She grew up in Buffalo, NY and is an avid Bills fan – “Go Bills!”

 Donna-Rae

Donna-Rae Brown, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Donna-Rae is a full-time RN in Skidmore Health Services. She received her AAS from SUNY Adirondack in 2017 and BSN from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2019. Prior to her nursing career, Donna-Rae provided advanced care in Emergency Medical Services and became an AHA BLS Instructor through the American Heart Association. She has provided nursing care in both the medical-surgical hospital setting as well as out-patient setting. Donna-Rae enjoys spending time at home with her husband, children, friends and family.

 

 

Michelle Farnan, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Michelle is a per diem RN in Skidmore Health Services. She received her BSN from Excelsior College and is currently working on her Master of Science in Nursing Education. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends.

 

Catalina Provost, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Catalina is a per diem RN with Skidmore College. Outside of work, Catalina enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Meg L

Meg Leary, BSN, RN, Registered Nurse (She/Her)

Meg is a per diem RN with Skidmore College. She completed her BSN from Molloy College and her BA in Mass Communication from SUNY Plattsburgh. Meg has experience in medical surgical nursing and school nursing. Outside of work, Meg enjoys spending time with her husband, children, friends and family.
