Faculty-Staff Achievements
Paul Arciero, professor of health and physiological sciences, provided extensive commentary for an article, "'Weekend warriors’ may yield similar brain health benefits as those who exercise regularly," published in Medical News Today on the benefits of less frequent exercise contributing to brain health.
Lindsay Buchman, visiting artist-in-residence, was selected as one of Light Work’s 2025 artists-in-residence.
Ruben Castillo, assistant professor of art, presented a solo exhibition, “Loving Impressions at the Bolivar Art Galleries,” at the University of Kentucky in conjunction with the Queer Art/Queer Archives Symposium. The symposium was a two-day gathering of scholars and experts in the field of queer art and queer archives, hosted by the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.
Skidmore is one of the 124 participating institutions of the AAC&U’s new year-long Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum. The College’s participation is supported by a five-person team including Lead Instructional Technologists Ben Harwood and Aaron Kendall; Beck Krefting, professor of American studies and director of the Center for Leadership, Teaching, and Learning; Matt Lucas, Harder Chair of Management and Business; and Rachel Roe-Dale, professor of mathematics and statistics and director of First-Year Experience.
David Howson, senior teaching professor and Arthur Zankel Executive Director of Arts Administration, was selected to serve as a Panelist for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) multidisciplinary review panel. NYSCA panelists are selected from a diverse group of professionals from across the state, and their expertise spans a range of artistic practices as well as many facets of non-profit management.
Beck Krefting, professor of American studies and director of the Center for Leadership, Teaching, and Learning, published an article, "Hannah Gadsby: Emotional Capital and Affective Economies in Stand-Up Comedy," in the European Journal of American Studies. She was invited to contribute to the special issue: "Funny Women: Perspectives on Women in/and the Comedy Scene."
Melora Wolff, associate professor of English, has published a collection of personal essays, “Bequeath,” with Louisiana State University Press. She will read from the collection at Northshire Bookstore.
