General Prep

Here’s how you can best prepare yourself in advance of the 2022 SEF application period:

• Read the SEF FAQs and familiarize yourself with important program dates and other information.
• Review the essay questions in the “Applications” section of the SEF FAQs, and prepare your answers in advance.
• Have your resume electronically reviewed by the Career Development Center’s Career Corps.
• Research and apply to positions in advance of applying for SEF. Need help? Schedule a career counseling appointment with a Career Development Center Counselor.

Application Advice

Here are some best practices for completing the application:

• Set aside an hour to complete the application.
• Complete the entire application in one sitting.
• Only one submission will be accepted per student. If you submit more than one application, be aware that only your latest submission will be considered.
• Read the questions carefully. Your answers will impact the number of awards for which you qualify.
• Have accessible the titles and organization names for the positions to which you’ve already applied.
• Make sure your resume is saved in Word or PDF form.
