The New York State Summer Writers Institute at Skidmore gets under way Monday, June 29, and runs until Friday, July 24.

Operated under the auspices of the Office of the Dean of Special Programs at Skidmore and the New York State Writers Institute at the University at Albany, and directed by Robert Boyers, professor of English at Skidmore, the summer program features creative writing workshops in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. An extraordinary staff of distinguished writers, among them winners of such major honors as the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, serve as institute faculty members. They also—along with guest authors—participate in the series of free readings held during the evenings throughout the month.
