VPFA Search Update & Open Forums

Dear Members of the Skidmore College Community,

I write to update you on the search for the College's next Vice President for Finance and Administration & Treasurer (VPFA). As you will recall, VPFA Michael D. West will retire August 31, 2018. For coverage between Mike's retirement and when the new VPFA arrives, I have consulted with the Appointments and Tenure Committee (ATC) and Faculty Executive Committee (FEC) leadership, and the President's Cabinet. I will appoint Controller and Director of Financial Services and Associate Treasurer Kyle Bernard and Director of Financial Planning & Budgeting Kelley Patton-Ostrander as interim division leaders effective September 1.

Our search consultants assisted us with the recruitment of a robust and diverse pool of VPFA candidates. The search committee completed video interviews and has selected three candidates for campus assessment interviews, which will include an opportunity for community members to attend an Open Candidate Forum for each candidate on the following dates:

• Wednesday, August 1 – 2:30–3:30 p.m., Davis Auditorium
• Thursday, August 2 – 2:30–3:30 p.m., Davis Auditorium
• Friday, August 3 – 2:30–3:30 p.m., Davis Auditorium

Each candidate's cover letter and Curriculum Vitae are posted on our search website, where the search committee members are listed and feedback links provided. The search website requires Skidmore login credentials.

I ask that you please treat these candidates' documents confidentially and that you do not forward them (or information about the identity of these candidates) to people beyond our campus.
